Kubernetes Ecosystem: From User to Contributor
A 10-episode series profiling the tools built on top of Kubernetes — MicroK8s, Minikube, Rancher, Crossplane, Karpenter, and their closest companions — the way their own maintainers would explain the problem each one solves. Then it goes one step further: where does the tool fall short now, and what would a real contribution look like there?
Who it’s for: Platform engineers, SREs, and infrastructure engineers who run Kubernetes daily and want to move from “user of the ecosystem” to someone who can spot a real gap and architect a fix for it.
Format: Every episode ends with a Contribution-Opportunity section — a named, current limitation, why it’s architecturally hard to fix, and what a contribution-shaped PR would actually look like. Not a feature tour.
By EP10, you’ll have looked closely enough at ten major ecosystem projects to know where the real openings for contribution are — not guessed at them.
